Corporate Membership Benefits

By becoming a member, you'll be joining a network which aims to create a flourishing and confident heritage sector in the South West (embracing museums, galleries, collections, historic places and sites). You’ll also participate in brilliant opportunities to connect and inspire the heritage community across the region.

Please note that during the Covid-19 crisis, and following advice from the government, we are unable to send membership cards at this time. We will send your membership cards and welcome letter as soon as we can return to our office.


  • Attend our annual Conference at a reduced membership rate and take a trade stand at the Annual Conference (additional fee)
  • Your company name, information, and link to your website on the suppliers list on the SW Fed website – the increasingly used source of news and information for museums in the region
  • Free entry to our very popular Spring and Autumn Forums
  • Three membership cards giving free entry to participating member museums across all nine South West counties
  • Monthly eBulletin containing latest sector news, blogs, training, events and jobs in the South West, as well as occasional emails about opportunities for members

The South West Fed is run by our members for our members, and is an active learning organisation, inside and out.  We encourage everyone to participate and contribute.  Your support, in whatever capacity, helps us to:

  • Demonstrate the strength and breadth of heritage in the South West
  • Connect people together for the benefit of organisations and their audiences
  • Inspire those working in and for heritage in the South West to deliver to the highest standards

Membership of the South West Fed is open to all companies and individuals who supply services or products to museums or galleries in the South West. Corporate members must supply the names of two museum, gallery or heritage site referees that they have worked with in the UK in the past two years. All applications will be considered at the next scheduled meeting of the Board, which take place quarterly.

The price for membership is £85.00.

Membership expires after 1 Year.

Please note that we only have one Corporate membership rate. Due to the excellent value of the commercial benefits, this applies to sole traders, partnerships, and companies alike, regardless of turnover. You are welcome to join as a different membership type, but this will not include the commercial benefits of supplier listing, first refusal on Conference trade stands, and the number of membership cards you receive may differ.

How to pay by cheque or BACS: You can still pay by cheque or BACS using the online system. You will need to select 'Manual Invoice' when asked to choose a payment method - your membership or renewal will start instantly but it may take a few days for your invoice with payment details to be sent. If you would prefer not to use the online system, you can download a form by clicking 'Join' or 'Renew', where there is a 'Download postal application' section.
