The National Archives announce additional funding for digital engagement projects

An additional £60,000 has been made available by The National Archives to fund Archive Testbed Grants on top of the £20,000 already available. This additional funding will fund Archive Testbed projects which are focused on digital engagement.

The additional funding will be awarded in the first two rounds of the Archive Testbed fund, therefore the application cut-off dates are:
Round 1 application cut-off: Monday 14th October 2019
Round 2 application cut-off: Monday 13th January 2020

The Archives Testbed funding scheme provides grants of up to £5,000 for archives who would like to test, explore, or evolve a new idea that has the potential to lead to positive change or improvement to the way we keep, preserve, promote and enable access to archives. The purpose of the fund is to encourage services to trial new approaches, provide them with room to experiment even if the initiative might ultimately fail, and enable the results and learning outcomes of our support to be shared with the wider archive sector.
