Our next Forum will take place on 18 January 2018 in Bath (save the date!) The day will be themed on archaeology, with speakers, workshops and plenty of opportunities to network over a cup of tea.
The event will run across two venues in Bath: Bath Guildhall for the morning and the historic rooms at the Roman Baths for the afternoon sessions. SWFed members will be able to book for free* and non-members will be able to buy tickets for £30. Details of how to book your place will be made available soon.
The full programme will be announced soon and will include sessions from:
- English Heritage (West Collections Team) who recently opened a new warehouse at Temple Cloud, Somerset
- Gayle Boyle (Senior Curator of Archaeology at Bristol Museums and Chair of the SMA) who will deliver a talk on unlocking the potential of small archaeological collections in museums
- Kurt Adams (Portable Antiquities Scheme Officer for Gloucestershire and Avon) who will deliver a short talk on the Portable Antiquities Scheme and how it can benefit museums as well as giving a hands-on session in the afternoon
Theo Platt, Meetings Secretary (Fora), said: "We are extremely excited to be theming our next forum on archaeology and making it relevant to the whole heritage sector. It will be a great opportunity to learn and share with people from around the South West."
*please bring a £5 contribution towards refreshments (non-members have their contribution included in the ticket fee)
