Volunteer Bridge Ambassadors - The Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry Joint Committee

Bridge Ambassadors are volunteers who engage people with two of the iconic structures which connect Devon and Cornwall – the Tamar Bridge and the Royal Albert Bridge. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and positive team of volunteers.

There are 3 core volunteer roles which Bridge Ambassadors may choose to fulfil: o Visitor Welcome Assistants, who deliver a friendly welcome to all visitors to the Learning Centre and Tamar Bridge o Bridge Guides, who deliver guided tours to the general public and other groups on and around the Tamar Bridge and in the Learning Centre, about the Tamar and Royal Albert Bridges o Learning Assistants, who assist the delivery of primary and secondary school workshops and tours during term time and assist with family activities during school holidays.
It is anticipated that these roles will evolve over the course of the Bridging the Tamar Project as we test and respond to visitor staff and volunteer feedback, and new roles may also be created. You will suit being a Bridge Ambassador if you:
• Have excellent communication skills
• Are enthusiastic about the project
• Have a polite, positive and friendly manner
• Are happy to learn as you go (previous experience of industrial heritage isn’t essential and full training on the history and workings of the bridges will be provided)
• Are aged 18 or over
