Posted April 01, 2019 at 16:31 PM
In Summer 2019, Bridport Museum is borrowing a J.M.W. Turner watercolour painting of West Bay for an exhibition and exciting festival of events. We are looking for an experienced social media user to help us promote the events throughout the Summer.
This would be an ideal role for someone looking to gain short-term valuable experience in the museums sector, or more generally with digital engagement.
For the right person, there may also be the opportunity to contribute more widely to communications activities such as writing press releases and updating website content. To create digital content relating to the exhibition.
Ideally this role requires at least 1 day per week commitment between June and September, with the option of undertaking much of the work remotely.
You would need to be available for regular catch-up meetings with the Director on site.
You will need to have excellent written communication skills, the ability to write in a tone of voice suitable for social media, and the willingness to write to the Museum’s tone of voice guide.
You will need to be a confident social media user, primarily with Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Please send your CV with a covering email to Emily Hicks, Director. The email should briefly outline the reasons for your interest in this role, and your relevant experience.
For an informal chat, please contact Emily on 01308 458703 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
