Distribution of Group 1 stone axes published by J.F.S.Stone in 1958 in Wessex Before the Celts, by courtesy of Thames & Hudson. The marked concentration in Cornwall is to be expected. Work over the past fifty years has emphasised this but also filled out a wide distribution over much of England with finds from as far afield as County Durham and Yorkshire.
