egyptian item grants availableIf you are looking for a small grant to enable you to conserve or research things Egyptian in your collections, the Donation Fund of the Thames Valley Ancient Egypt Society may be able to help.  Applications for sums between £100 to £500 are invited from project directors regardless of nationality, country of operation or institutional affiliation.

The fund has been established to support field work, research, epigraphy and conservation in the UK, Egypt, Sudan or elsewhere in connection with the culture and history of ancient Egypt. The society has endowed the fund with £2000 to be awarded for work in the 2011-2012 season, this amount is expected to be split across multiple projects.

Applicants should articulate in the application how a modest donation from the TVAES fund will make a difference, why the planned work is urgent and important and how the results will be fed back to the society.  Unfortunately grants cannot be made for travel, field school or other educational fees or scholarships.
